Avian Influenza Rural Community Education Training
Minnesota Center of Excellence for Influenza Research & Surveillance (MCEIRS)
Avian Influenza Community Education Training is a train-the-trainer course developed for limited- and non-English-speaking populations in rural agricultural areas of the United States. The program provides a basic curriculum for local health departments or other organizations to train community members that can speak and understand English to deliver basic influenza education to fellow community members. The training is intended to be delivered in a classroom setting with face-to-face instruction. Key topics include detection, prevention, and control of influenza in people, birds, and pigs.
